Carrie Arrowood, cardiac rehab supervisor, used an open house June 21 to show off the new, much larger space at The Wellness Center now dedicated to the Cardio Pulmonary Rehab.
Dr. Andrew Poret spoke about the importance of cardio rehab and how much it has improved over the years.
Dr. Poret called the cardiac rehab experience "a lifestyle change" and said, "We're here for the marathon, not just for the short sprint."
Carrie Arrowood called cardiac rehab "probably the best-kept secret at MSHA. We see more than 160 patients per week."
The rehab department includes pulmonary rehab, not just cardiac.
The new rehab space includes a cart and classroom to use for teaching healthy cooking habits.
Proper nutrition is a key component in the rehab process.

The healthy buffet at the open house included an exotic flower arrangement and artistically carved fruit arrangements.
