Join the Summer Food Drive to help Coalition for Kids feed hungry children
By Doug Janz
Mountain States is holding a Summer Food Drive at its Johnson City locations from July 7-23, with all food donations to be distributed by Coalition for Kids (C4K).
The C4K mission is to provide educational, spiritual and social guidance to underprivileged children so they have the opportunity to reach their full potential in their respective communities. C4K provides free meals to children in the program, but the Coalition is closed from July 25 until school starts.
So for those couple of weeks many of the kids struggle to get good meals, and this food drive will allow C4K to make sure their meals are covered during that gap in the program.
“Coalition for Kids helps feed them,” said Judy Patton, senior executive assistant for Mountain States. “Some of these kids wouldn’t eat in the summer if it weren’t for this program. This is a very important need and we really appreciate any donations from our team members.”
Patton will deliver the food to the Coalition for Kids on July 23 so it can be packaged and distributed to the kids to help with the days before school starts.
