Smyth County Community Hospital partners to host free health fair for local law enforcement

MARION, Va. – Dr. Brian Stiltner, hospitalist (left), and Cathy Maine, FNP, hospital CNO and associate administrator, serve law enforcement members at the free screening. As a way to look after local law enforcement officers and show appreciation to them, Smyth County Community Hospital along with the Smyth County Hospital HealthTrust and the Smyth County Health Department recently hosted a free health fair for local law enforcement agents in the county.

The all-day event provided the officers an opportunity to have a variety of screenings free of charge. This included lab work, vision, sleep, various vaccinations including flu shots, blood pressure and BMI checks and more. Guests were able to spend time with health care providers from the hospital and the health department and ask questions about their results or other health concerns.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer these free screenings to our local law enforcement agencies,” said James Tyler, CEO of the hospital. “We’re grateful for the work they do each and every day to keep our community safe and we wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you.”
