UCMH Relay For Life team goes (way) above and beyond
ERWIN, Tenn. – The Relay For Life team from Unicoi County Memorial Hospital reached its fundraising goal several months ago, benefiting the American Cancer Society – but the team didn’t stop there. They kept raising money until the doubled their goal!
Relay For Life raises money and awareness in the fight against breast cancer. The team recently reached $8,000, twice their original goal. They also won the award for Best Decorations at the Relay For Life event for their Mardi Gras-inspired booth, and the planning team was awarded the Hope Lantern award for 2016, given to the team that showed the most support for the event and was most active in collecting donations.
“Reaching this milestone would not be possible without the dedication of our team to this cause,” said Eric Carroll, administrator at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital. “The generosity of our team members and community make this extremely special and I’m glad to see them being recognized for their effort.”
