Boots & Bow Ties set for May 20, benefiting the Regional Cancer Center at JMH

ABINGDON, Va. – Slip on your boots and straighten up your bow ties! It’s almost time for the fourth annual Boots & Bow Ties event, hosted by the Johnston Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Attendees will enjoy live music, dinner, and silent and live auctions, all for a good cause.

This year’s Boots & Bow Ties benefits the Regional Cancer Center. Funds raised from the event will provide additional diagnostic and treatment options for lung cancer patients through the purchase of advanced technology.

Boots & Bow Ties will be on Saturday, May 20, at Woodbrook Farms in Abingdon. The event begins at 6 p.m. and features Gomer and The Three Pyles, a local band based out of Abingdon.

Guests will be served dinner from Pratt’s Real Pit Bar-B-Que, and then desserts from Anthony’s Desserts.

There will be a live and silent auction during which attendees will have the opportunity to bid on items like a week in a suite at The Grand Mayan Resort in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico, a Myrtle Beach vacation at a beautiful three-bedroom condo overlooking the ocean, photography packages, a private cocktail party, and a trip to a Virginia Tech football game that includes two tickets in a sky box with a round-trip flight from Virginia Highlands Airport in Abingdon to the Virginia Tech/Montgomery Airport in Blacksburg.

Guests are encouraged to wear their bow ties and boots, as well as pearls to honor those who have battled lung cancer, as it is symbolized by a white or pearl ribbon. Wm. King Clothiers is pleased to provide the event-exclusive bow tie. Guests can reserve theirs by calling 423-968-9383. Goodman Jewelers will be offering a chance to win a custom pearl and diamond ring designed by Mark Goodman.

Tickets are $75 per person and include dinner, desserts and access to the event. They can be purchased online at www.mshafoundation.org/events/boots--bow-ties or by calling 423-764-1137.
