Fit4Life offering free entry into Goliath at the Gorge to first 50 team members

You want a real challenge? How about the 2017 Goliath at the Gorge obstacle race, billed as Northeast Tennessee’s toughest race. It’s part of this year’s schedule of events for Fit4Life, Mountain States’ wellness program.

The race is set for Oct. 14 at Doe River Gorge in Hampton, Tennessee, and you can enter for free if you act fast, because Fit4Life is waiving the registration fee for the first 50 team members who sign up using a special code: fit4life.

There are 5K and10K routes – including a kids’ race – for the event. More than 20 obstacles will challenge the 10K participants, and the 5K participants will get their fair share, as well. Runners will face a 500-foot incline within the first mile and end the race with a 300-yard mud trench. Between the start and finish, participants will battle the elements of water, sand, stone, wood and fire.

The epic conclusion for the 10K participants and the kids will be the opportunity to conquer Goliath in a coliseum-like setting with their very own slingshot and three stones.

The Goliath is sponsored by Mountain States Fit4Life as well as The Wellness Center and the Johnson City Medical Center’s Level 1 trauma center, and is organized by The Goose Chase.
