HRC's Crystal West receives Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year award

Crystal focuses on teaching healthy eating habits.Crystal West, MS, RDN, LDN, dietitian for the Health Resources Center, has received the Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year award from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

 

Crystal WestThe purpose of the Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year award is to recognize the competence and activities of younger dietitians in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and to encourage their continued participation in association affairs.

 

“The Health Resources Center team is proud of Crystal’s outstanding work in the HRCs,” said Laurel McKinney, HRC manager. “She is well deserving of this prestigious award! Congratulations, Crystal!”

 

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is the largest professional organization for registered dietitian nutritionists and other food/nutrition professionals. The local affiliate, Tri-Cities Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, elects candidates each year, and then the awards are voted on by all of the members. Crystal has served on the board for TCAND since 2015 in multiple positions including her current position as President-Elect for 2017-2018.

 

Criteria for selection includes, but is not limited to, a demonstrated concern for the promotion of optimal health and nutritional status of the population and demonstrated leadership, e.g., in legislation, research, education, management, etc., either in the Association or employment.
