RCMC says farewell to Harry Dye who retires after 45 years

Harry started in the dietary department in August of 1971 and worked the kitchen through decades of changes in both health care and in food service and nutrition. At the time he retired, he was the longest-serving team member at Russell County Medical Center. (Ruth Clark had retired in December 2016 after 46 years at RCMC.)

Harry retired as a Morrison’s employee but he was an RCMC team member for many years. He had worked in the dietary department his entire career.

The hospital held a reception for Harry, serving cake, punch and snacks.

All hospital team members were invited and a few people who had worked with Harry in the past came back to celebrate. Hospital AVP/administrator Steve Givens presented Harry with a quilt that had his start and end dates embroidered onto it. Steve noted that Harry will be greatly missed – especially his fried chicken, mac and cheese, and potato soup!
