ABINGDON, Va. – Johnston Memorial Hospital welcomed a new class of 10 residents on Sept. 14 with Mountain States leaders, members of the teaching faculty, family, friends and administrators on hand. Program directors and faculty advisors helped don long white coats on the new physicians who began training this summer. The program also promoted residents who successfully completed their first post-graduate year and commended those who were promoted to their third and final year of training.

Those present included Dr. Morris Seligman, Mountain States executive vice president and chief medical officer; Stan Hickson, VP/CEO at Johnston Memorial; Dr. Brian Condit, JMH CMO; and program directors Dr. Camelia Chirculescu for internal medicine and Dr. Lura Miller, interim program director for family medicine.

The JMH residency program opened in 2015 and will graduate its first class in June.
